Day 01 – Arrival & Transfer to Yala

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, embark on a scenic drive from Negombo to Yala, enjoying photo stops along the coast. Check into your safari lodge or eco-resort and unwind after your journey. Guests can relax by the pool or take in views of the surrounding wilderness. Overnight stay is in Yala.

Day 02 – Yala National Park Safari

Rise early for a jeep safari in Yala National Park, home to leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and a wealth of birdlife. In the afternoon, visit Sithulpawwa Buddhist monastery or enjoy downtime at the lodge. A second evening safari is optional for those eager to explore more of the park’s diverse habitats. Overnight stay is in Yala.

Day 03 – Bundala Bird Sanctuary & Kataragama

Travel to Bundala National Park for morning birdwatching among wetlands teeming with migratory and endemic species. In the afternoon, continue to Kataragama, a revered pilgrimage town, where visitors can witness evening rituals at sacred temples. The day concludes with an overnight stay near Kataragama or transfer to Mirissa.

Day 04 – Transfer to Mirissa & Leisure

Head to Mirissa and relax on its palm-fringed beaches, enjoying the gentle sea breeze. Spend the day unwinding by the ocean or exploring local seafood cuisine at nearby restaurants. The evening offers free time to stroll along the shore or soak in the tropical atmosphere. Overnight stay is in Mirissa.

Day 05 – Whale Watching & Weligama

Embark on an early morning whale-watching tour during the seasonal months from November to April. After returning for breakfast, travel to Weligama Bay for optional surfing lessons, snorkeling, or a cycling tour through the local village. The day combines adventure and leisure along the pristine coastline. Overnight stay is in Weligama or Mirissa.

Day 06 – Hikkaduwa Exploration

Drive north to Hikkaduwa, known for its coral reefs and vibrant coastal culture. Visit the Tsunami Memorial Museum, snorkel among colorful marine life, or explore the bustling beach town with its shops and cafés. Enjoy a laid-back evening by the beach before returning to your lodge. Overnight stay is in Hikkaduwa.

Day 07 – Bentota & Colombo City Glimpse

Travel to Bentota for a river safari or short water sports activity before heading to Colombo. Explore the city with a brief tour, perhaps enjoying high tea or shopping in local markets. Return to Negombo in the evening for your final night of relaxation. Overnight stay is in Negombo.

Day 08 – Departure
