Embark on a journey through Sri Lanka’s less-travelled eastern and northern regions, where sun-kissed beaches, sacred temples, and ancient ruins reveal the island’s rich heritage. From the tranquil waters of Pasikuda and the spiritual bays of Trincomalee to the vibrant cityscape of Jaffna and the sacred sites of Anuradhapura, each day offers a blend of culture, history, and scenic beauty. Stroll along coastal forts, explore colonial landmarks, and uncover stories of devotion, resilience, and identity. This 9-day adventure immerses travelers in the soulful contrasts of Sri Lanka beyond the usual paths.

Day 01 – Arrival in Colombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, guests are met and transferred to Colombo for check-in at their hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to relax after the flight, or travelers may choose an optional city walk to glimpse Galle Face Green or local markets. Evening offers a chance to unwind and enjoy the city ambience. Overnight stay is in Colombo.

Day 02 – Colombo to Pasikuda

Travel east along scenic roads to reach the tranquil beaches of Pasikuda, known for their calm, turquoise waters. Stop en route at cultural sites or local markets to experience regional flavors and traditions. Upon arrival, relax on the beach or stroll along the shore in the golden afternoon light. Overnight stay is in Pasikuda.

Day 03 – Pasikuda Leisure & Coastal Culture

Spend a full day at leisure along Pasikuda’s pristine coastline, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or simply unwinding. Optional excursions include visiting Batticaloa Fort or exploring the nearby village of Kalkudah to experience local life. Evening is free to enjoy the beach or hotel amenities. Overnight stay is in Pasikuda.

Day 04 – Pasikuda to Trincomalee

Depart along the east coast to the historic port city of Trincomalee. Explore the iconic Koneswaram Temple, Fort Frederick, and Lovers’ Leap for breathtaking views. In the late afternoon, relax by Uppuveli or Nilaveli Beach, taking in the coastal sunset. Overnight stay is in Trincomalee.

Day 05 – Trincomalee to Jaffna

Journey north to Jaffna, passing through scenic countryside with opportunities to stop for local snacks or photos. Upon arrival, explore the city’s highlights, including Jaffna Fort and Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, immersing in Tamil culture and architecture. Evening is free to enjoy local cuisine and the city atmosphere. Overnight stay is in Jaffna.

Day 06 – Explore Jaffna & Island Heritage

Spend the day exploring Jaffna’s cultural landmarks, such as the Jaffna Library, Dutch Fort, and Point Pedro. Optional excursions include boat trips to Delft Island or visits to Nagadeepa Temple. Sample authentic northern cuisine and learn about the region’s heritage before returning for overnight stay in Jaffna.

Day 07 – Jaffna to Anuradhapura

Travel south to the sacred city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first ancient capital. Explore its iconic stupas, including Ruwanwelisaya, Abhayagiri Monastery, and the revered Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, absorbing centuries of Buddhist history and royal heritage. Overnight stay is in Anuradhapura. 

Day 08 – Anuradhapura to Negombo

Depart Anuradhapura for the west coast, stopping at cultural or village sites along the way, such as the Aukana Buddha Statue. Arrive in Negombo in the late afternoon, enjoy a peaceful sunset by the lagoon, and celebrate the journey with a farewell dinner. Overnight stay is in Negombo.

Day 09 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport from Negombo for onward travel, concluding a soulful exploration of Sri Lanka’s east and north.
